RSS

Mastering the art of contouring may take some practise. Although makeup artists have been contouring for years, it’s only recently that the word has got out there about this revolutionary technique! Contouring may seem tricky to begin with, but don’t worry, we’ve narrowed down the do's and don’ts of contouring, so you can also achieve flawless contour makeup in no time!

Do use a cream contour palette. Cream contour kits are essential for contouring as they’re the easiest consistency to work with. The creamy formula makes the contour and highlight easy to blend and control so you can achieve your desired look!

Don’t apply too much. When it comes to contouring, it's way easier to build your contour up then it is down. Therefore, it’s best to start small and subtle and that way you don’t end up applying too much contour makeup. Keep applying more until you're happy with your contour look; you can also apply the Contour Rocks after for a glowing finish!

Do practise. We’ve all the heard the saying ‘practise makes perfect’ and it isn’t more true than it is with contouring. Contouring is all about practise and experimenting, the more you do it, the easier and better your contour makeup will become. We have video tutorials on YouTube showing you step by step guides on how to contour, or better yet head to our Instagram to see our Contour Queens do their thing. Whatever you do, keep practising!

You only need a few products to achieve the perfect contour and our contour kit is a great place to start. We think we’ve done our makeup perfectly and when we find the natural light or go into a different room, our contour makeup looks totally different! Try and do your contour makeup in natural lighting if you can to make sure your finished look is on point.

Do blend like crazy. Contouring is all about the blending! Highlight and contour makeup should look effortless and flawless, therefore once your contour has been applied; it’s time to get your blending brush out to achieve a natural and immaculate contour finish!
